Purpose of this group

This news group will discuss baseball in its widest context. It is anticipated that international baseball will be widely discussed within the group. However, a major purpose of this group is to discuss Club level activities and matters of interest and concern at grass roots level to those running, playing in, following or just have an interest in UK baseball teams participating in the British Baseball League.


Adverts are forbidden with the following exceptions: Suppliers of goods and services relevant to baseball in the UK may post, not more than once every 3 months, an invitation of four lines or fewer, to visit their web site or request details. Advertising of forthcomming games is allowed so long as they fall within the parameters of "baseball" as understood in the UK, and are administered within the Rules of the British Baseball Federation. Vacancies within the administration, playing and coaching of baseball is allowed. The subject line must begin "ADVERT: ", except for vacancy adverts, when it must begin "JOB: ".


Crossposting to no more than 5 baseball related news groups is allowed. Crossposting to newsgroups which do not contain the word "baseball" in the recipient newsgroup name is forbidden.

Binaries and Formating

Posts must be readable in plain text. HTML, RTF and similar formated messages are prohibited. Binary files and such as pictures spreadsheets and programmes must not be included nor attached to the message. Cryptographic signatures eg PGP are acceptable. Pointers to web sites appertaining to baseball are acceptable.
