uk.local.dorset is a local interest newsgroup intended for discussions of a
general nature about Dorset. Subjects may include sport, history, culture,
towns, education, local club scenes and local media topics, plus anything
else of interest regarding Dorset. Although the newsgroup will mainly be of
interest to people living in Dorset, queries regarding the county and its
culture are welcomed. Posts from ex-patriate Dorset people, whether
overseas or in other parts of the UK, are encouraged.
Advertising
All adverts are forbidden. Short (i.e. under ten lines) announcements
for local events may be posted provided they are non-commercial,
relevant to the area covered by this group, and that they are not
posted more frequently than once per month. Such announcements should
have a subject line with the prefix "ANNOUNCE: ".

Messages posted to this newsgroup must not be cross-posted to more than

adjacent or overlapping, or connected by the subject of the post (e.g.

Encoded binaries (e.g. pictures, compressed files, etc.) are
forbidden. Such material belongs on a web or FTP site to which
a pointer may be posted. Cryptographic signatures (e.g. PGP)
may be used where authentication is important and should be as
