The newsgroup uk.jobs.fortyplus is for the discussion of all matters
pertaining to employment for people over forty years of age. This group
provides an opportunity for people in this category to share experiences and
discuss problems relating to employment. Input from other relevant
sources, such as employers or trade organisations is most welcome.
Advertising
Advertising is forbidden, with particular reference to Multi-Level
Marketing (MLM), Networking and other similar 'get rich quick' schemes,
with these following exceptions:
Individuals seeking genuine employment opportunities in the UK may post,
these postings should be kept brief, and the posting of full Curriculum
Vitae is discouraged, however pointers to relevant web sites may be
posted. Employers, including Employment Agencies, who are based in the
UK and who are offering genuine and specific employment opportunities
for which people over forty years of age will be considered, may also
post advertisements. The subject line of such postings should begin
"JOB SOUGHT: " or "JOB OFFERED: " as appropriate.
Binaries & Formatting
Encoded binaries (e.g. pictures, compressed files, etc.) are
forbidden. Such material belongs on a web or ftp site to which a pointer
may be posted. Cryptographic signatures (e.g. PGP) may be used where
authentication is important and should be as short as possible.
Posts must be readable as plaintext. HTML, RTF and similarly formatted
